Noise From Iceland started as a first sound map of Iceland, now becoming a musical and field recordings project. Kaśka Paluch came up with this idea, when she was a tour guide in Icelandic lava cave. After meeting with the visionary impaired tourist, she started asking herself „what is the sound of Iceland?” and travelling around the island with the microphone. The beginning of this process coincided with the start of global pandemic and lockdown. Therefore most of the visited places was empty. I accompanied Kaśka with a camera, documenting this unusual work, but also the emptiness that had not prevailed in Iceland for years.
